Thinking about setting up a blog or wiki?
If you are looking for new ways to connect with your patrons, perhaps a blog or wiki is the answer. Learn what these technologies can be used for in a library setting and the steps you need to take to get one up and running.
Please check out the Blogsand Wikis pages in the sidebar to the right of your screen. They have the contents of the handouts from the program as well as setup guides that will explain some of the more basic points of setting up blogs and wikis.
If you are evenly slightly interested in this technology, I highly recommended checking out the links on the Blogs and Wikis pages and signing up for a free blog and/or wiki and playing around with it. As simple as they are to get going, they offer a great many features and we only covered a fraction. You may be pleasantly surprised at all that you can do with a blog or wiki.
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact Theresa Maturevich of the Beverly Public Library in Beverly, MA at maturevi@noblenet.org
This program is sponsored by the New England Round Table of Teen and Children’s Librarians (NERTCL).
